We aspire to be a bridge from the world we live in today to the world we want to see tomorrow.
Current Initiatives
Throughout 2024 we backed some remarkable Impact Partners, each working to deliver innovative, important change across our seven portfolio areas.
-
Empowering Women & Children
We strongly believe in the lasting positive impact of empowering women and children through education, job opportunities, and social, political & psychological support. Our Impact Partners operate locally, nationally, and internationally.
-
Criminal Justice Innovation & Second-Chance Employment
Mass incarceration is a human tragedy of epic proportions – one that America shamefully leads in the world – and that needs to end. We’re focused on reducing the underlying causes that have led to this crisis and giving real second chances to those who have paid their debt to society.
-
Protecting the Environment
Climate change remains one of the largest threats facing the world, yet remains one of the most underfunded areas of philanthropy. We seek out the most innovative change-makers from across the United States working across this broad area – from geothermal engineering to electrification and everything in between.
-
Mental Health
At Greenbridge, we believe there is immense potential to address mental health challenges early—before they escalate into crises. By focusing on early-stage interventions, we aim to equip young people with the skills, tools, and resources they need to manage mental health challenges as they arise. This approach is rooted in prevention, empowering individuals to take charge of their mental health and build resilience for the future.
-
Bridging the Educational & Opportunity Gap
We believe in the unparalleled power of education and want to help increase the educational and career opportunities available to young people throughout the Bay Area and across the United States. We prioritize opportunities to support BIPOC youth and first-generation college students.
-
Supporting a Thriving Democracy
If there is anything we’ve learned in the past few years, it’s that a flourishing democracy shouldn’t be taken for granted. The increasing polarization of political discourse has created an inability to solve problems and thwart public policy that would benefit us all. A growing lack of trust in media, civic institutions, and our ability to work together to solve big problems is concerning, and we want to support organizations trying to reverse this trend.
-
Additional Impact Partners
While our granting primarily focuses on our six key portfolios, throughout the year we discover compelling organizations working to create important change in areas like senior dog rescue, Effective Altruism, and supporting the broader philanthropic community. We believe these amazing organizations also deserve to be celebrated.
